I did a few experiments with the Hyrule guards for my next episode. I do want to keep things close to the Zelda world as I can, but the Twilight Princess guards didn't seem to pop with me. So I took elements of the TP guards and mixed them with the Ocarina of Time guards, like the chain mail and the legs and the chest plate. I think it looks alright, I may change a few things, but it's progress.
The guard on the right was the previous version of the Ocarina guards. I usually like to put up comparisons so you can see the differences and updates I make.

Interestin' concepts behind them.^^ Another you could garner inspiration from is A Link To the Past. They actually have guards fight on there, though they're under a spell to make them obey Agahnim, making them your enemies.
